So much for Phil talking about Xbox not showing games so far out. The next time we see this engine it better be gameplay and a release date. I really liked the tech demo but it's a long shot from making me want to buy hardware (yet again after X1X and XBone/kinect) or get hyped for Halo so far off. IMO this amount of time is asking a hell of a lot from fans, especially from X1X buyers, no mainline Halo on my sweet new machine for perhaps 3 years or more?.You're asking us to wait perhaps 5 years between games with Master Chief? We're to wait that long to get story progression about Cortana? I hope they use this time taken to really reshape their studio, not just a game engine. I'd much prefer to see 2-3 Halo games over the time gap between Halo 5 and Halo Infinite. Story progression, small corrections, new info drops are what keep interest.Īt least with a new engine I truly hope 343 streamline their design and development pipeline for output, simplify the shit out of everything and churn content with quality. It's so hit and miss and creates far more fatigue with your fans. Hell you get to tell different stories, characters, play with gameplay.I just don't understand the long game anymore. Why not produce a couple or a few core teams and release totally different games by design and see what sticks better, a little live fire A/B split testing of sorts. I just find it so weird they put all their eggs into one basket for so many years with one game development.
HALO 1 TRAILER FREE
The campaign for me was solid, the cutscenes amazing, the music was brilliant, the sound effects were spot on, the graphics are bloody impressive on an X1X, the free content post game release was standout incredible, the studio got far more communicative etc. There is competition to be had outside of arena, you can't aim an entire half of a game at one of the smallest percentages of the player base. Following its success, more studios started producing games with similar themes and game mechanics like Half-Life 2, Call of Duty: Advanced and Future Warfare, etc.Halo 5 has some of the best gunplay and movement, it's totally missing 4v4 (no default with vehicles, asymmetrical maps, mid sized maps) and 8v8 elements (no BTB dev maps in favour of WZ, which is a great mode for PvE and some PvP stuff). If you’re talking about a pure sci-fi FPS from that generation Halo sits at the top.
